You Don't Wait For The Check Engine Light
You change your oil every few thousand miles.
Not because something's wrong. Because you know what happens if you don't.
Nobody argues with this. Nobody says "my car is running fine, why would I service it." You understand instinctively that a $70 oil change is cheaper than a $4,000 engine rebuild, & that the rebuild only happens because the oil changes didn't.
Same with your body. You know that daily movement, decent sleep & consistent habits compound quietly over years. & you know that starting in May because you have a beach trip in July is a harder, more miserable, less effective version of the same goal. You're not building anything at that point. You're playing catch up.
You already accept this logic everywhere.
Your skin is not the exception.
Where This Falls Apart
Here's what actually happens with skin.
You wait. Not out of neglect but because nothing feels urgent. Your skin looks fine. There's no engine light. So you maintain the basics & assume treatments are for people with problems.
& then one day there is a problem. Texture that wasn't there before. Fine lines that stopped disappearing when you stopped smiling. Scarring that has settled in & stopped fading on its own.
Now you're in the repair conversation instead of the maintenance conversation. & repair costs more, takes longer & has a ceiling that maintenance never had.
This is the whole thing. Not a scare tactic. Just the same math you already run on your car.
What Microchanneling & Microneedling Actually Is
Microchanneling creates thousands of microscopic channels in the skin. Precise, controlled, designed to activate your skin's own renewal process.
Those channels trigger your body's natural healing cascade. Your skin responds by initiating new collagen formation, the exact protein responsible for firmness, structure, bounce & that lifted quality no cream creates from the outside.
& because those channels are open at the moment of treatment, they become delivery pathways for a proprietary growth factor serum applied directly into them, at the precise moment your skin is most receptive.
Microchanneling is microneedling evolved. Same foundational principle. Elevated delivery.
Think of it as the difference between topping off fluids & actually servicing the engine. One sits on the surface. The other gets into the system.
The Research Behind It
I don't offer treatments because they sound impressive. I offer them because the evidence holds up. Here's what Procell's own clinical research actually shows.
The Braun study: blinded, graded & safe across skin types.
Dr. Martin Braun conducted an evaluator blinded clinical study at Vancouver Laser & Skin Care Centre. Twenty eight subjects, ages 25 to 64, Fitzpatrick types II through V, across multiple ethnicities. Each received a series of full face treatments spaced four to six weeks apart.
Three independent expert graders, blinded to which photos were before & which were after, evaluated results using the Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale.
They scored the skin as improved, much improved or very much improved 74% of the time. The average score across all three graders landed at 2.77, which reads clinically as improved.
The tolerability data matters just as much. Average discomfort scored 1.8 out of 10 after the first treatment & 2.0 out of 10 after the fifth. Redness was mild & short lived. At the two month follow up, 89% of subjects reported redness resolved within one to ten minutes, & 48% reported it cleared in under five.
The study concluded the system is safe for use across all skin types.
The Fried study: measurable correction of wrinkles & scarring.
Dr. Richard G. Fried, MD, PhD, ran a study at Yardley Clinical Research Associates on twenty five subjects with acne scarring & wrinkles. Each received four to five treatments with Procell's proprietary serum at monthly intervals.
Investigator Global Assessment at three months post treatment showed 68% of subjects had a measurable one point reduction in wrinkle severity.
Among those treated for acne scarring, 30% showed a two point reduction in severity & another 40% showed a one point reduction.
That's the repair job. Real, graded, structural change to damage that already existed. It works.
It also took four to five monthly sessions to get there.
All twenty five subjects completed the study with zero adverse events.
But the part of that study I find most compelling is what it measured beyond the skin.
Subjects were asked how they felt & how they were living in the months following treatment. 24% reported being more social. 20% reported exercising more. 20% reported being more likely to go out. 16% reported feeling more optimistic. 16% reported feeling more amorous.
Fried's conclusion was that improving how your skin looks makes people more comfortable in their own skin, & that comfort makes them more likely to seek out human connection & healthful activity.
Your skin is not a vanity project. It changes how you move through your life. There is now published research saying so.
The Yarosh research: DNA repair as an active mechanism.
The aftercare protocol includes DNA repair enzymes, & this is where the science gets genuinely interesting.
Dr. Daniel Yarosh, one of the foundational researchers in this field, co-authored a comprehensive review in Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology covering four decades of research across hundreds of subjects. The 2015 Nobel Prize in Chemistry was awarded for the mechanistic study of DNA repair, which is the science underpinning all of this.
Three enzymes do three different jobs.
Photolyase, derived from marine plankton, uses energy from light to directly reverse UV induced DNA damage. In clinical studies, photolyase applied to UV exposed skin & then activated with light reduced that specific DNA damage by 40 to 45%.
UV endonuclease, from bacteria found naturally on human skin, initiates excision repair of UV damage without needing light activation.
OGG1, sourced from the mustard plant, targets oxidative DNA damage caused by pollution & free radicals.
Two findings stand out for anyone thinking about aging.
MMP-1 is the enzyme that degrades your collagen support structure & it spikes after UV exposure. It's a primary driver of photoaging. Photolyase applied to UV irradiated human skin reduced MMP-1 expression by 90%.
Telomere shortening is associated with premature cellular aging. Skin treated with photolyase before UV exposure & UV endonuclease afterward showed no measurable telomere shortening at all, compared to sunscreen alone.
In a study of thirty two subjects with fine lines around the eyes, all three enzymes applied twice daily for four weeks produced a significant reduction in crow's feet, with 72% of subjects noticing the improvement themselves.
Across four decades of clinical trials, no serious adverse events have been identified.
The Honest Math
Let me put both roads side by side.
The repair road. You have established scarring or set in fine lines. Microchanneling will help you. The Fried data is clear. But it takes a series, it takes months, & there's a ceiling on how far correction goes because you're rebuilding structure that's already been lost. This is the engine rebuild. It works. It's just the expensive version.
The maintenance road. You start before that damage sets. Same treatment, doing dramatically less work for dramatically better results, because you're maintaining structure instead of reconstructing it. This is the oil change. Unremarkable, consistent, & the entire reason the rebuild never happens.
Your collagen is declining right now. Whether your skin looks good today or not. There's no light on the dashboard for this one.
You can stimulate it while you still have plenty to build on, or you can rebuild it later.
Both work. One is much harder.
Why This Lives Inside My Advanced Skin Renewal Treatment
At a medspa, microchanneling is a standalone clinical procedure. Efficient, effective, transactional. The quick lube place off the highway.
At Paraluman it's different by design.
Microchanneling/Microneedling is woven into my Advanced Skin Renewal treatment. Not offered as an isolated procedure but stacked inside a fuller, more intentional experience that also supports circulation, lymphatic flow, barrier integrity & the nervous system regulation that healthy skin depends on.
Because real skin transformation was never about one modality in isolation. Same reason a workout program built around one exercise doesn't work. The results come from the stack, not the single input.
The clinical power of these treatments delivered inside a holistic, elevated experience is a categorically different thing from the same treatment delivered on a table in thirty minutes.
Same science. A completely different standard of care.
Who This Is For
If you have damage you want corrected. Acne scarring, uneven texture, fine lines that have set in. This treatment addresses those directly & the Fried data speaks to exactly this. It will take a series & it will take patience, but the change is real & it's measurable. Start now, because it only gets harder from here.
If your skin is already healthy. Clear, balanced, well cared for. This is how you protect what you built. Collagen production declines naturally with age & this treatment actively stimulates it. You're not waiting for a problem. You're doing the maintenance that means the problem never arrives.
Either way the outcome falls in the same category. Skin that functions better, looks more refined & ages more slowly because you gave it the stimulation & the signals it needs to renew itself.
The Next Step
You already run this math on your car. On your body. On everything you intend to keep.
Your skin deserves the same thinking.
DM me the word START & let's talk about where your skin is now & whether you're maintaining or rebuilding.
